WOW. It has been a while since I sat down and wrote an update on my life. A few things have happened since last I saw you all. First, I got engaged in Feb 2013. I then got married on 12/19/2015. I lost over 170 lbs, gained a little back but still holding strong at 120 lbs down. I also began a vegetarian lifestyle.
When I got engaged it was actually total surprise even though I basically told him to 'Shit or get off the pot'. Then came the months and months of wedding planning. Those closest to me would say I was a bit difficult to deal with towards the end. BUT that was by far the best day of my life. During this entire process I focused hard core on losing weight between diet and exercise. I managed to lose 100 pounds before my wedding. I felt amazing and even managed to lose more after the wedding. I reached 170 lbs lost and got some terrifying news, I was a diabetic. This was devastating considering I spent the better part of two years trying to avoid this. This threw me into a depression like you would not believe and this is where I began putting the weight back on.
Getting back to basics is hard. So I decided to make a drastic change and become a vegetarian recently. Its a learning curve but I'm hoping the health benefits are worth it. I don't really find myself missing meat, which is a plus. Its been exactly two weeks today, with only one bad day so far.
Now on to the juicy stuff currently happening in Florida. We are threatening with Hurricane Irma making landfall where I live in the next couple days. I have been trying to remain calm, with little to no avail. My best friend and roommate has been doing her best to help me calm down during this craziness. We are finalizing our preparations within the next couples of day, and should be ready to hunker down before Friday PM when we are expected to get our first Tropical storm force winds. In my Florida girl opinion we are not avoiding this one. Now we must just try to remain safe.
I will update afterward! Until then, enjoy some beautiful pictures.
Rocky.
